Pavle Rakočević
Pavle Rakočević was born in Paraćin in 2000. At the age of six, he enrolled at the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija, where he began playing cello in the class of Prof. Božo Saramandić, completing his studies there in 2018. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2023 in the class of Prof. Dragan Đorđević. He completed his master's studies in chamber music in 2024 in the class of Prof. Nemanja Stanković. He is currently pursuing master's studies in cello and doctoral studies in chamber music, both at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. He has performed in major concert halls across Europe and Asia — as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician — including the Philharmonie in Essen, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Zaryad'ye Concert Hall in Moscow, and the Meguro Persimmon Hall in Tokyo. He is a member of Ensemble Metamorphosis, the chamber orchestra Muzikon, the chamber orchestra Šlezinger, and the No Borders Orchestra, with which he has made a recording for Universal Music/Deutsche Grammophon. He has collaborated with the National Theatre in Belgrade, the National Theatre in Banja Luka, the Terazije Theatre, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra, the Dušan Skovran chamber orchestra, the Balkan Chamber Orchestra, the St George's Strings, and members of the Belgrade Baroque Orchestra. He has also collaborated with the RTS Symphony Orchestra, where he was later engaged as a freelance leader of the cello section from 2025 to 2026. Among the distinguished artists with whom he has collaborated are Nigel Kennedy, Kayhan Kalhor, Daniel Hope, Denis Matsuev, Gordan Nikolić, Roman Simović, Nemanja Radulović, and Stefan Milenković.
